Shelly Rosenberg is a strong advocate for those who are not neurotypical. She brings their concerns to the interior design conversation and empowers them through her perspective both as a designer and as a mother to three children who are not neurotypical.
The space she designed for Kips Bay Dallas, specifically for a neurodiverse family friend named Virginia, shines some much-needed light on the need for more spaces and products that make life easier and more convenient for everyone—regardless of need or ability.
Beth Dotolo and Carolina V. Gentry created The Wise and the Wicked, a sinfully fantastic lounge design and play hard-work hard office space that share a hidden bathroom. The combined space is a tribute to the modern woman: “wise about her business and also wickedly amusing in her off time.” Incorporating contemporary products like Components® faucets in Vibrant® Brushed Moderne Brass and the tankless Avoir® toilet, the space reflects the duo’s fearless approach to design and flair for elements that are out of the ordinary. As Carolina says, “We always like to have a little sense of humor in our design.”
Bryan and Mike Yates named their lounge and bar space Inner Circle as an intentional play on the common phrase, as this lavish space is more about inclusivity than exclusive luxury. Inner Circle reflects the duo’s community-building philosophy, exemplified by the room’s welcoming allure. Exuding a timeless luxury, Inner Circle is the perfect spot for an entertaining evening. Mike noted that a trip to the local KOHLER® Signature Store was invaluable in selecting the Crue® faucets and Brinx® bar sink. “I think the KOHLER stores are fantastic. Being able to turn on that showerhead or turn on that faucet and really experience how you woud use it, I think, is really crucial.”
