Our Arts/Industry residency, in partnership with the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, brings artists into our Kohler, Wisconsin, factories to work alongside our skilled cast iron artisans to create new possibilities with this timeless and versatile material.

In 1883 Kohler Co. founder John Michael Kohler created our first bathtub by adding four legs to a cast iron horse trough. Today our skilled artisans continue to handcraft KOHLER enameled cast iron products, made from at least 80% recycled material.
