One could say, “the best just got better,” with the introduction of the new
precision-engineered Class Six flushing technology by Kohler Co., a global leader in kitchen and bath design and technology, at the 2008 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show.
Class Six flushing technology optimizes the raw power of jet action that is utilized to remove bulk waste with 100 percent of the flushing water being fed through the rim—creating pressure—to ensure the bowl is completely clean after every flush. The advantage of the new Class Six design is that it purposefully blends bulk removal and bowl washing, creating a new functional platform delivering high quality bulk and bowl washing performance levels while simultaneously supporting the option of reduced water consumption (standard 1.6 gallon per flush and high efficiency 1.28 gpf).
“Class Six flushing is really the best of both worlds, in terms of bulk waste removal and bowl cleanliness,” said Paul Nick, marketing manager, sanitary products, Kohler Co. “This unprecedented technology will become the new standard in complete flushing performance for gravity-fed toilets.”
More than just an extension of the popular KOHLER Class Five flushing technology, Class Six technology is engineered to provide extraordinary bulk flushing performance under even the most demanding circumstances via an industry-leading 3 1/4-inch flush valve and optimized jet feed technology. This is a commercial-grade toilet designed for both residential and commercial applications.
KOHLER Class Six flushing technology creates incredibly strong gravity-fed flushing power while also maintaining the efficient use of 1.6 or 1.28 gallons of water per flush. Additionally, a fully glazed 2 1/8-inch trapway and an optimized siphon jet ensure a powerful flush every time the toilet is used. A generous 11- by 8-inch water surface – among the largest in the industry – provides for better hygiene as it helps maintain an overall clean and odorless bowl.
The KOHLER Cimarron Comfort Height™ toilet is the first toilet to feature the new Class Six technology. The toilet is available in either a 1.6 gpf or 1.28 gpf; the latter is a WaterSensesm labeled toilet. WaterSense is a partnership program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which ensures consumers are purchasing a product that reduces water usage, and meets strict performance guidelines. To be eligible for the WaterSense label, toilets must flush, on average, with 20 percent less water than the standard 1.6 gpf. Both toilets are also offered as a Complete Solution™ toilet, a package Kohler offers making everything needed for installation available with one purchase, including the wax ring, mounting bolts and KOHLER toilet seat.
Quick, easy installation
The DryLock™ installation system available on two-piece Class Six toilets makes installing a toilet fast and easy without fear of breaking the tank or leaking water onto the bathroom floor. The DryLock installation system uses a metal bracket plate that is secured to the bottom exterior of the tank. Two bolts slide and snap effortlessly into the bracket plate rather than sticking through the vitreous china tank. The tank is then set down on the toilet and only one tool – a 1/2-inch socket wrench – is needed to fasten the tank tight. The absence of bolt holes in the tank ensures a dry installation and no damage to the tank.
